A new 54-room inn and conference center has been announced for award-winning Barnsley Resort with an anticipated opening date of fall 2017. Upon completion, the resort will have a total of 150 guest rooms and suites as well as 15,500 square fee of indoor meeting space bring 100 new jobs to the luxury resort in Bartow County.
The three-story Inn at Barnsley Resort inspired by the works of noted British architect Edwin Lutyens, will complement the resort’s relaxed English-inspired village and cottage-style accommodations. Upon arrival, an octagonal rotunda will create a striking first impression before proceeding to the resort’s new guest registration area. Adjacent to the guest reception, the Living Room will be a relaxed gathering area for guests. A grand staircase and impressive fireplace will be focal points of this inviting space. The Inn will also feature a retail boutique.
The Georgian Hall Conference Center brings more than 10,500 square fee of indoor space and 8,350 square feet available outdoors to host corporate meetings, weddings and other special events in picturesque location in the resort’s historic district. Inside, the Savannah Ballroom will host 240 to 500 guests for meetings or social gatherings. Design details include vaulted ceilings with exposed, stained hand-scraped scissor trusses; painted millwork; dormer windows allowing natural light; and a monumental floor-to-ceiling brick fireplace. The ballroom will be divisible creating two smaller event spaces. The Savannah Terrace will offer dedicated space for up to 215 guests at one end of the ballroom.
Additional interior spaces will include the August Room, the Oglethorpe Room, and the Dalton Room, each with thoughtful design taking advantage of the of the sweeping pastoral views of Barnsley Resort. The Georgian Hall’s exterior will complement the existing Rice House restaurant which is located within a 19th century farmhouse.
Barnsley Resort has chosen Architect Cooper Carry and interior design by Kent Interior Design. Construction services are provided by Choate Construction Company.
