American Dreams or Imagined Lands: Terri Loewenthal, Jack Spencer, Christa Blackwood, Mark Klett, and Byron Wolfe
August 22, 2020 - January 24, 2021
Working with a private donor, Jackson Fine Art, the Andrew Smith Gallery and the Candela Gallery, The Booth Western Art Museum brings together the creations of photographers who each work in experimental photography of the American Western landscape. Each artist engages with the land through photographic processes that abstract what is seen, rendering the land into something like a dream. From evocative and ominous buildings, to colorful explorations of the Californian landscape, to nostalgic composites of Western National Parks, each artist presents a unique vision of the West that deeply touches on the imagination of both the artist and the viewer. Opening reception/Member Appreciation Day, August 22, 2020.
