Sorry this event has been canceled for 2019 due to drought conditions.

This event, which begins at dusk (around 5 PM), hosted by the Cassville Historical Society commemorates the burning of Cassville during the Civil War. On November 5, 1864, the Fifth Ohio Cavalry burned the town of Cassville giving residents little notice. The women and children of Cassville fled to the cemetery and hid among the tombstones to escape the burning town. Bring a chair and join the Cassville Historical Society following for hot dogs, roasted marshmallows and a bonfire.
