A five-day spring break extravaganza with a different science focus or field of study explored each day. Budding scientists can meet other scientists and working experts, practice their methods through hands-on activities, and be on the cutting edge of some of the latest news in science. Plan to spend the day to enjoy all the activities from 10 AM-5 PM. Children may wish to dress as their favorite scientists on the themed days for fun photo ops. Lunch will be available for purchase in the Tellus Cafe. See scheduled highlights below:

Monday, April 1 – Astronomy: Meet NASA Subject Matter Experts, Astronomers and Physicists. View sunspots in the Observatory and climb into a Mini Space Capsule.

Tuesday, April 2 – Geology: Meet Geologists and Sid the Science Kid. Track earthquakes on the latest Seismogram. See what your thumbprint and earthquakes have in common, and crack your own geode ($5).

Wednesday, April 3 – Alternative Energy: Meet nuclear power and solar energy scientists. Tour the Tellus Solar House, learn about the Tellus Wind Turbine, and make your own electrical current.

Thursday, April 4 – Aviation: Meet pilots, model aviation experts, and aeronautics teachers. Build your own glider, watch drone demonstrations, and try your hand at a flight simulator.

Friday, April 5 – Agriculture: Meet experts from area fisheries, raptor rescues, farms and Master Gardeners. Put our soil under the microscope, see Yanmar tractors, do some planting of your own.
