Visit Cartersville & all of Bartow County, Georgia

Just slightly north of Atlanta on Interstate 75, is Cartersville, a convenient vacation destination that you’ll quickly discover is one of Georgia’s gems! On the south side is LakePoint Sports where Prep Baseball Report anchors a sporting complex that is a destination for more than 20 competitive youth sports. Terminus Wake Park and Rally Volleyball offer thrills on surf and sand. LakePoint Station is a family-friendly entertainment complex where guests play off-field.

Then there’s Allatoona Lake and Red Top Mountain State Park where lakeside cottages and campsites are a natural retreat for the city weary. And if you prefer to float your cares away, boat rentals are a breeze. Also on Allatoona’s shoreline is George Washington Carver Park, which has a climate-controlled event hall with panoramic views of one of the prettiest beaches on Lake Allatoona. Just next door is the newly-opened Pine Acres Retreat which offers additional indoor and outdoor event venues, cottages, and tent-provided campsites.

Head into Downtown Cartersville for charming boutiques and memorable local restaurants. Visits to the Smithsonian Affiliates Booth Western Art Museum and Tellus Science Museum, Bartow History Museum, Rose Lawn Museum, and Etowah Indian Mounds State Historic Site are a must.

Just west of Cartersville is Euharlee and the slower pace of the 1800s. The town is home to many original buildings and one of Georgia’s oldest examples of African American craftsmanship, the Euharlee Covered Bridge.

To the north is Cassville and Kingston, two communities forever changed in by the Civil War in 1864, but not before Union forces passed through Adairsville, the Bartow County town with the distinction of being the first Georgia city to be listed in its entirety on the National Register of Historic Places. Adairsville is home to antiques shops, a dinner theater, an original W&A Rail Depot and the magnificent Barnsley Resort.
